As they strive to improve health outcomes for their patients, healthcare providers contend with a host of intensifying issues, from patient safety and access to skyrocketing costs. The built environment offers opportunities to optimize outcomes on all fronts. An important trend in evidence-based design gives healthcare providers the information they need to make and justify investments in healthcare environments.

This EDAC-accredited/CEU-certified presentation delves into the key elements, origins and current challenges of evidence-based design. Participatns will see real-life examples of hospitals and architecture/design firms that are applying this design approach to achieve specific, measurable outcomes --and generating evidence that guides decisions throughout the healthcare community.
